4 weeks to go...IUCN World Conservation Congress here I come!

My poster to drum up some attention and get people to come!
After all my fun collecting data in Tanzania, I have been spending the summer in The Bahamas, writing away and preparing my research results.  The blue skies, warm seas and lots of sun have helped me and I have a first draft almost done.  This will become one of my chapters in my PhD thesis, and also I will be preparing this for publication, with the help of my supervisors.  The results are good, and I am pleased with what I have so far so all is good!  Only another 3 or 4 chapters to go...

Over the coming weeks, I will be preparing for the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Jeju, South Korea.  I am leading a Knowledge Cafe session.  This will involve me facilitating a (hopefully) very interesting discussion about fishers, fisheries, and fishery closures.  Up to 12 people join in on this round table discussion so this will be exciting.

My lovely university has very kindly provided me with full funding from the Going Global Grant so I am lucky enough to be able to lead this session, and also join in on the whole congress.  10 days in Jeju!  I will be able to meet lots of people, with lots of experience in nature conservation.  My business cards are prepped and ready, flights and accommodation is booked, now I just have to go shopping for some fancy clothes so I do not have to go in jeans.

I will be updating this blog while I go on another exciting journey, and throughout the congress.
